MCS at Bangsaen Thailand Speed Festival 2012

MCS was proud to be invited to be present at the Bangsaen Thailand Speed festival 2012 last weekend.

It was a great experience to get involved with some really nice enthusiastic Asian racing, the warm and friendly people of Thailand, and the beautiful country side of Thailand. The racing in the tight bumpy streets of the Bangsaen City Centre, located about 60 miles south of Bangkok at the sunny beach was a great experience. It is obvious that Thai people love racing and it is a pleasure to watch the joy of the crowds during the races over the weekend.

The Thailand Speed festival covers four exciting main racing categories;

  • SCTC class (Super Car Thailand Championship) – Porsche 993 / 996 / 997, Toyota, Mitsubishi EVO, etc.
  • SPTC class (Super Pickup Thailand Championship) – Isuzu, Chevy, Ford, etc.
  • Super 2000 (2 liter engines) – Honda Civic, Honda FD2R, Honda S2000, etc.
  • Super 1500 (1.5 liter engines) – Toyota Yaris, Ford Fiesta, etc.

During the weekend, we installed a set of 2-Way MCS dampers on one of the Isuzu Light Trucks. Our driver “Boy” immediately loved the dampers over the bumpy streets of Bangsaen, and the handling improvements it brought to his #4 vehicle. During the main race on Sunday, he managed to take the lead in the race and was doing a great job holding his position while losing a lot of time on the long straights due to losing 5th gear. Our MCS dampers allowed him to pull away in the slower cornering sections of the track. In the last Lap he got caught in traffic and unfortunately lost the lead, finishing 2nd with less than half a car length to the winning car at the finish line. Nevertheless the result was fantastic given the transmission problems.

We want to say thank you to all our new Thai racing friends we met and who made this racing weekend an unforgettable experience.
